JDRF 2017 Saratoga Springs Ride to Cure Diabetes!

Phone rings.
Me: Beat Cycles, this is Brittany.
Colleen: Hi! My name is Colleen! Did I hear that you are doing a women's road ride?!?
Me: uhhhhhh.... unofficially. Would you be interested?!?!?
Colleen: YES!

Thus began my and Colleen's friendship. We agreed on a day to meet at the shop and ride out to wherever. When she arrived, she brought along Debra, another bicycle enthusiast and needless to say, it was friendship first ride.

Colleen and Debra were training for the JDRF Nashville Ride to Cure Diabetes that fall, and long story short, I basically just trained with them. It was too late in the season for me to sign up, but I assured them that I would join on whichever ride they chose to do the following year. To my delight it would be Amelia Island! Alas, the bean popped into my life and I wouldn't be ready to make the trek in time after her birth and my wedding season beginning. And so, I promised I'd make it for the next one. Which is THIS YEAR!

Colleen has since moved to Buffalo, and Debra is eagerly awaiting her first bundle of joy (literally ANY SECOND), but we all agreed that September in Saratoga Springs was doable, and I literally could not be more excited. I even recruited my dad to join our team, ha! So there it is friends...

I AM RIDING THE JDRF 2017 SARATOGA SPRINGS RIDE TO CURE DIABETES!

It looks like it's going to be a hilly ride....eeeeeekkkkk.... But I'm excited for the challenge and looking forward to getting my cycling legs back.

Ahhhhhh, cycling season has begun!
